Hi, I’m Susan – Naturopathic Doctor, Sleep Consultant and Postpartum Doula. I’m passionate about supporting new parents during the early days with their baby – helping make the transition into parenthood feel more supported, informed, and calm. My interest in this work began through my own experience becoming a mom, where understanding what a safe and supported birth and postpartum period could look like transformed fear into confidence. That experience continues to shape how I care for families today.
My practice focuses on the postpartum period, offering both in-hospital and at-home support. In hospital, I assist with newborn care following delivery – including support after C-sections and for babies requiring monitoring such as blood sugar checks. At home, I help parents feel more confident with hands-on newborn care, including feeding, diapering, bathing, soothing, and establishing gentle routines around sleep. I also provide guidance for postpartum recovery, including perineal and surgical care, as well as emotional wellbeing.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Bishop’s University and a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. As a naturopathic doctor, I take an evidence-informed approach and have a special interest in women’s health, digestion, and mental health. My care is also deeply influenced by over a decade of teaching yoga, where I developed a strong appreciation for the connection between mind and body – something that is especially important during the postpartum period. My goal is to help you feel supported, capable, and cared for as you navigate life with your new baby.
